Lynette Maris McAuliffe

Lynette Maris McAuliffe passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025 at the age of 72.  Lynette Kay was born on September 5th, 1953 in Denver, Colorado, to Harry Norman Maris and Lorraine (Izett) Maris.  She grew up in Edgewater, Colorado, with her parents and brother Richard. Proud to be a lifelong Coloradoan, she attended Jefferson High School, moved to Ft. Collins to attend Colorado State University, and graduated with a degree in Human Development and Family Relations in 1976.  

During her experience at CSU, she was involved with her sorority, Tri Delta, throughout her four years.   Friends she met there are still friends today, including Wendy Cory, some 50 years later. Also at CSU, she met Kevin. They were married in May of 1979.

They moved to Denver where Lyn worked for Standard and Poor’s as Kevin attended Dental school at the University of Colorado.  Paige was born in April of 1983, shortly before Kevin graduated. Colin was born in August of 1985. Together they started a practice in southeast Denver, where Lyn was an integral part of their success for 34 years.

Lyn was very involved with her children’s school activities and sporting events.  She continued to remain active with sorority sisters as well as sharing her time here at Bethany Lutheran. She was a Sunday School teacher and she and Kevin were Caring Visitors, bringing Communion to homebound church members.   Lyn’s participation in the Stephens Ministry program was perhaps the most meaningful for her.  Caring for those most vulnerable is what deepened her faith in God.

She is survived by her husband Kevin, children Paige (Joshua), and Colin (Brianne), four grandchildren, Liam, Livia, Hennessy, and Harrison, and brother Richard.
